On November 11, 2022, Claire was in agony on her property in Queensland, Australia.
She then called triple-zero to tell her friends and family goodbye.
She lost both of her legs and suffered severe arm damage after she was hit by a farming tool.
According to the local news outlet Stanthorpe Today, which spoke with her, she blacked out for a moment during the incident.
She said she was screaming for help as she lay on the ground, but nobody could hear her. The incident happened while she was near her dam.
She was bucked off, and she tried to hold on, but she fell off. The blade of the tool stayed upright and kept moving, preventing her from getting out of its path.
After the incident, Claire said she was already thinking about her children, who would later learn that she had died.
After her arm got crushed by the blade of the tool, she called her neighbors.
She did this to spare the animals’ lives, not because of her own interests, but because somebody else could look after them. S
he then took the time to tell them about the accidents that happened.
She then called triple-zero so she could tell her friends and family what happened.
She said that she thought she was dying, and she wanted to say goodbye.
After being taken to a hospital, she spent several hours in theatre before she was placed in an induced coma.
Initially, it was reported that she had lost an arm. However, doctors were able to save it, and they believe that she could regain most of her function.
Her family and friends have supported her, and she says that her children have been a source of strength. During her daughter’s goodbye, she reportedly looked into her eyes and thanked her for not dying.
A couple of fundraising pages were created for her, and they have raised over $20,000. A fundraiser was also held on January 21 by the Little Larder Stanthorpe. All of the money raised will go directly to her.
