A woman from Brisbane died while swimming at a beach in Queensland on Sunday.
She was identified as Lucy Ann McGrath, 28.
She was pulled from the water at Bulcock Beach, about 90 kilometers from the state capital of Brisbane.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
One mourner posted a tribute to the former high school student on social media.
According to the Courier Mail, other beachgoers saw the woman, who was 27 years old, struggling in the water.
She was from the Zillmere suburb in Brisbane and had been celebrating her birthday in Caloundra.
Lynelle, the mother of Ms. McGrath, said she was in shock following the incident.
Her stepdad also placed a bouquet near the area where the woman died.
Her cousin, Jennifer Moy, described the incident as heartbreaking.
