A teenager and a man have reportedly been shot after reports of violent confrontations in a remote Indigenous community in the Northern Territory.
The incident happened in Peppimanarti, which is 320 kilometers south of Darwin.
When officers arrived at the area late Wednesday, they found a man with gunshot wounds to the arm and a teenager with a shoulder injury.
According to the police, there were various violent confrontations that led to the shooting of two people.
They believe the weapon used by the suspect was a rifle.
A tactical response team was then sent to the area to restore order.
The incident was considered to be a one-off event, and the community is now calm.
The teenager was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment.
According to police, the young man is in a stable condition.
The man was then taken to a local health clinic. He was later released to his family.
The police are still looking for the suspect.
