The family of the young mother who was caught on camera forcing her 11-month- old son to inhale a vape said the act was “putrid.”
In the distressing video, the mother can be seen smiling as the child’s aunt places the vape in the baby’s mouth.
Other people can also be seen laughing as the child coughs and breathes.
In the video, a woman can be heard asking the child if he wants to try.
A member of the family told the news that the video was “very putrid” and that she had already removed her nephew from the situation.
Another family member claimed that the child’s mother was trying her best and that the video made them sick but that it was also “very sad” for her.
According to the family member, there have been death threats made against them.
The NSW Police stated that they were called to the house after a welfare report was made, but the child and his mother had already left the state.
It is believed that no further action will be undertaken as the law enforcers did not intend to press charges.
