You are sitting at home enjoying a rare day of relaxation when your phone suddenly vibrates.
You immediately feel a huge drop in your stomach as your boss sends a text message asking you several work-related questions.
This is typical for many employees, but a TikTok user managed to come up with a way to keep this from happening to you again.
On her TikTok page, a Canadian woman named Vanessa revealed that she blocked her boss’ mobile number after he sent her a text message while she was sick.
She said that this was her way of keeping him from calling her while she was away from work.
She said that she was at home sick today and that her boss sent her a text message because he wanted to talk to her about some work-related tasks.
Despite her order not to text her personal number, she noted that her boss still continued to send her messages.
She then said that she had blocked him. According to one person, they have also blocked all their bosses because they don’t respect their personal boundaries.
Another said that employees should be able to use their work phones when they’re not at work.
One person said that she didn’t blame her boss, as he was not her friend. Others were angry that he would still send her messages even though she was off work.
One person suggested that she go to HR, while another said that there was no reason for him to have her number.
The move, which some considered to be genius, comes after a study revealed that employees with high salaries are more likely to be less intelligent than those with lower rankings.
The study, which was conducted by the European Sociological Review, revealed that people in the upper one percent of earners are less intelligent than those in the next income group.
Although the study found a link between higher IQ and higher wages, it only found a link between these two factors up to a modest annual salary of around $83,000.
It’s all the more interesting since last August, the Bureau of Statistics of Australia reported that the average Australian full-time worker makes around $1769.80 a week. That’s about $92,029.60 a year, or pre-tax.
