Izzard, who came out as transgender three decades ago, revealed that she had been receiving hostile comments.
She also stated that she preferred to be referred to as a woman rather than a man, though she is fine with people using male pronouns.
In an Instagram post, Suzy stated that she was okay with individuals using her birth name, Eddie.
She noted that she would prefer to be called Suzy rather than Eddie, though she doesn’t mind people calling her by her birth name.
I am simply calling myself Suzy Izzard. A few days ago, Izzard opened up about the abuse that she experienced when she came out as transgender during the 1980s.
She said that she had been ostracized by society and had fought in the streets after receiving abusive treatment.
During an interview with Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway, Izzard said that coming out as transgender was a hard process because there were no conversations about it during the time of her transition.
I have had a few fights, and there have been a lot more people calling me names.
However, she says that these incidents have started to decrease over the years, and she is now able to perform stand-up comedy.
Last month, she insisted that people calling her by the wrong name would not be able to offend her. She said that this could confuse people.
According to Suzy, the difficulties encountered by transgender individuals are a necessary part of their journey.
She stated that they were currently in the midst of a dialogue and that they would eventually get through it.
She also said that she tries to be positive and ignore the negative online comments.
