A man from Geelong, Paul Grapsas, 40, was found dead on the street by his wife, who had gone looking for him after he failed to return home after walking his dog.
According to the police, he had left his home at around 10 pm on Thursday.
His usual routine was to walk the dog. Around 4 am, his wife woke up and went looking for him.
She found him lying in Malone St., near his car.
He had suffered a significant head injury.
The police released a statement on behalf of his family, describing him as a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend.
He was also a man of integrity who was always happy to be with his family and friends.
He was a devoted father who was expecting his third child.
His family requested that the public respect their privacy during this difficult time.
The Homicide Squad is currently investigating his death as a suspicious incident.
According to the police, Grapsas was found about 200 meters from his home.
His body was partially concealed by his vehicle.
