While John Farnham is the voice behind the “yes” campaign, Angry Anderson, the frontman of the Rose Tattoo, has weighed in on the issue and why he will be voiting NO.
He claims that the case against enshriing a voice for the Torres Strait Islanders and Aboriginal people in the constitution is headed for victory.
During his time as a federal candidate, Anderson supported Aboriginal people.
However, he was disturbed by how the bureaucracy that supports them has become a toothless tiger that has failed to improve the lives of Indigenous Australians.
According to Anderson, the bureaucracy claims that it is our fault, and only a “yes” result in the upcoming referendum can fix it.
He also stated that he doesn’t trust the bureaucrats.
Anderson stated that he was committed to helping the indigenous Australians, but he would not support the proposed constitutional amendment.
As a supporter of the “no” campaign, Anderson has offered his support to Nampijinpa Price, the senator who is leading the coalition’s efforts against the amendment.
“I have personally offered my allegiance to Jacinta and to any others, like her, that will truly work towards bettering the lives of our most neglected Brothers and Sisters.”
The voting is held on October 14.
