A man died after he was allegedly punched outside a pub in Queensland, and a charge against the alleged attacker was upgraded.
The man, who was identified as 32-year-old Lincoln Hoad, was reportedly assaulted in the early hours of Saturday in Dalby, near the city of Toowoomba.
He was flown to a nearby hospital after suffering critical injuries.
Before his death, Hoad’s partner, Shalika Jade, posted a message on Facebook, where she expressed her love for him and asked for a miracle.
“I’ve had the absolute pleasure of having him in my life for almost 14 years as my love and throughout that time we have always chosen each other throughout everything,” she wrote on social media.
“I love this man with my every fibre.”
A man was later apprehended near the area where the incident occurred and charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
The charge against the man, who was from the Capalaba region near Brisbane, was upgraded to unlawful killing. He will appear in court on Tuesday.
