Over a decade ago, Sam Armytage conducted an interview with Russell Brand, who was accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
The allegations were unveiled in an investigation by Dispatches, The Sunday Times, and the Times.
The claims were presented as part of a joint investigation by the three British media outlets.
Four women have accused Brand of sexual assault, emotional abuse, and rape from 2006 to 2013.
During this period, Armytage worked as a co-host of Seven’s Weekend Sunrise.
She conducted an interview with the comedian in 2009 while he was in Australia promoting his film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.”
According to The Daily Telegraph, Armytage noted that Brand’s persona was always outrageous, but he thought his interview with the comedian was a bit full-on due to how he was very touchy-feely.
During the beginning of the interview, Andrew O’Keefe, who was also a co-host of the show, referred to Brand as a “feel-aholic” and a womaniser.
O’Keefe claims that they wanted to have Sam meet Brand due to his reputation as a Casanova.
The comedian complimented Armytage on his appearance before their interview started.
Brand also said that he would have a problem with him if he saw Armytage on television when he was younger.
The host of the show awkwardly thanked Brand for his compliment. She then glanced at her notes to ask another question.
