After facing backlash from customers, Woolworths decided to backpedal on its controversial decision to end the Everyday Extra program.
The program, which was introduced in 2022, provided members with a variety of rewards and discounts.
One of the perks of the subscription program was a 10 percent discount on a single purchase at either a Woolworths or Big W store.
In July 2023, the supermarket giant revealed that the 10 percent discount would only be available in-store.
This angered customers, who were outraged by the decision.
A spokesperson for Woolworths said that the company had decided to backtrack and allow its customers to redeem the discount online or in-store.
Starting November 1, customers will once again be able to use the 10 percent discount on their purchases online.
The company noted that it would make it easier for its customers to get even more value from their subscription.
It also said that members could also redeem the discount on its Everyday Rewards products.
For customers who are already a member of the company’s free Everyday Rewards program, they can enjoy a variety of perks, such as a $10 off a future purchase and 1,000 Qantas Points for every 2,000 points they have accumulated.
On the other hand, the Everyday Extra subscription program costs around $7 a month and provides members with additional perks, such as 10 percent off at Big W and Woolworths stores.
