The body of a 55-year-old surfer who was killed in South Australia on Monday has been identified as Tod Gendle.
The massive white shark that attacked him was around 13-feet long.
Since the search for his corpse has been unsuccessful, only his wetsuit and surfboard have been recovered.
Gendle’s family thanked the emergency services personnel involved in the search.
According to Superintendent Bahr, Gendle was not a regular surfer at Streaky Bay.
He was a traveler who was known for his skills on the beach.
In a statement, the family thanked the law enforcers and volunteers who searched for him.
The family also thanked the people of the town of Streaky Bay for their support during the tragic incident.
They noted that Tod was a great surfer who was always looking for the best waves in Australia.
The attack happened in front of many people, including several witnesses who were watching from the shore.
According to the news reports, the shark was very aggressive and attacked the victim right in the middle of a group of surfers.
This is the third attack that has happened at the beach this year.
