As the debate about the attitude of young people toward work continues to rage online, one Gen Zer may be using stereotypes to her advantage.
According to an interview conducted in November 2023 on the website Smashwords, musician Zoe Wynns, who is 20 years old at that time, stated that she could not do a 9-to-5 job.
She then shared a video on Instagram, where she said that she was worried that the recording might sound “spoiled.”
In the video, she said that she could not do a 9-to-5 job due to her physical limitations.

She also stated that she cried whenever she had to perform several non-creative tasks in a day.
Promoting her music, Wynns implied that pursuing a career in music would allow her to avoid the 9-to-5 schedule.
She stated that a quote she heard in a show made her believe that people like her could not live their lives as normal.
She then asked her fans to listen to her songs.
Although workers from different generations have experienced the struggles and concerns of working an eight-hour day, the prevailing sentiment among Gen Zers online is that they don’t like traditional working hours.
Because of this, they are often regarded as lazy and have a negative reputation online.
