Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, were named as two of Hollywood’s biggest losers in 2023 in an article by The Hollywood Reporter.
Their names appeared in the publication’s rundown of the worst performers in the industry.
In the article, writer-at-large James Hibberd criticized the couple’s previous 12 months.
He also referred to their multiple “whiny projects,” such as the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, as well as their memoir Spare.
According to Hibberd, the couple’s brand became “sanctimonious” after they were subjected to roasting on South Park.
He claims that after a few more projects, such as a Netflix documentary and a supposedly “whiny biography,” the Harry and Meghan’s reputation became too much for them to handle.
The backlash from the World Wide Privacy Tour, which included a 20-minute takedown by South Park, was savage, and it led to Spotify dropping Archetype and the executives labeling the couple as “grifters.”
Despite all of the mockery and scorn they’ve received, Hibberd claims that the couple’s failures in Tinslestown still rank higher than attending hundreds of official royal engagements a year.
According to royal commentator and former Miss USA, Kinsey Schofield, the Sussexes’ inclusion on the list will put Meghan’s agent, William Morris Endeavor, in a difficult situation as they have to figure out what they want to do next.
She stated that The Hollywood Reporter is the bible in the industry, and this has hurt the couple personally.
