The woman who died following a house fire in NSW was identified as 65-year-old Nerol Doble.
Emergency services were called to her home in Bribbaree about noon on Sunday.
She suffered severe burns to about 90 percent of her body. It’s believed that her son started the fire, which destroyed their house.
Nerol Doble was reportedly doused with petrol before she was set on fire. She was rushed to a hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries on Monday morning.
The incident is being investigated as domestic violence. Her neighbors tried to help her by placing her in a bath to ease her pain.
They placed her in a bathtub to ease her pain. According to Gilbert Murphy, a nearby resident, Doble was a strong woman who tried to live through the incident.
However, he said that there was no chance of her survival. Her granddaughter also suffered from the burns.
The woman’s son, Shannon Doble, was apprehended by the Parkes Police after he surrendered himself.
The police stated that the 42-year-old man set the fire while he was staying in his mother’s home.
He was charged with murder and other offenses.
Among the charges he faced were causing grievous bodily harm, intentionally setting ablaze a dwelling, damaging a property through an explosion or fire, and assault occasioning bodily harm.
During his court appearance on Monday, he did not apply for bail.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance in March.
A report on the incident will be submitted to the coroner.
