A young girl fell from a cliff in southeast Melbourne on New Year’s Day, and both of her legs were broken.
Sarah Jacka, 12, was at The Pillars at Mount Martha when she decided to jump off the cliff.
She was rescued by lifesavers, and she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Taken after the fall, the photos show Sarah with two broken legs. She was then taken to a hospital, where she was treated and placed in plaster casts.
According to her, she fell from the cliff while she was knee-deep in the water.
After landing on the ground, she couldn’t feel her legs, and she began to scream for her father.
People nearby helped Sarah after she fell. Her father, Chris, said that despite the frightening experience, they are thankful for their lucky lives.
He said that upon reaching the site, Sarah told him that she couldn’t feel her legs and toes. He said that he feared that she might suffer a broken back.
We’ve been counting our blessings since the incident, even though Sarah broke four bones. She suffered a broken tibia and a fractured ankle.
According to Chris, the reality is that such things can happen.
It’s not worth it for people to risk their lives for 30 seconds of adrenaline.
The Pillars is a popular beach destination for tourists and locals, and it has a cliff that people can sunbake over.
However, lifesavers are worried about the increasing number of people who are visiting the area.
According to Chris Quinn, a lifesaver at Mount Martha, the site is not patrolled.
This means that even if an individual gets into trouble, they’re not guaranteed to survive.
People are advised to check the water’s depth and tide before jumping. Before Sarah was injured, a man broke his leg after jumping from the same area.
Despite the efforts of the local council, the number of people at the site continues to increase.
Mayor Simon Brooks said that the council could not do much to prevent people from jumping off the cliff. Sarah suggested that people only go if they’re sure it’s safe.
