The owner of a cafe in Australia defended his decision to remove a family from their property after a woman posted a YouTube video of her protesting.
According to Adrian Dalloste, the co-owner of the Adele’s Cafe on Magnetic Island, he asked the family to leave his establishment because it had been the first time he had asked a family with kids to leave.
Dalloste stated that the kids became agitated after learning that they would be sharing gelato with one another.
One of them reportedly threw a metal flask on the floor and took objects from the counter.
The kids’ tantrum lasted for around 15 minutes. According to Dalloste, he only decided to intervene because the kids were disrupting other customers and vandalizing the establishment.
Laura Edwards, the mother of the kids, criticized the decision, saying it was disgusting.
According to Edwards, the kids’ behavior was not a tantrum or a meltdown. It was the child’s need for some emotional help.
She then went to the cafe to talk to the manager about the situation. This led to a heated argument inside the establishment.
She claims that during the confrontation, she was told that the family was not a childcare facility.
As a mother of three kids, Edwards believed that she had the right to ask the manager to help her kids.
However, Mr Dalloste said that he was confused by her decision to intervene.
He said it was not her call to make. He said she arrived after he informed the parents that they had to leave.
The family initially refused to leave, and he threatened to call the police if they didn’t leave.
