Harry Schuster, a 27-year-old farmer from South Australia, made headlines online after he turned his 120ha property into a massive representation of the country on Australia Day.
He spent about two hours driving his tractor and developing the intricate crop pattern.
According to the engineering graduate, he was initially not sure how the design would turn out.
He noted that he wasn’t sure how it would hold up until he had started tilling the ground.
For a week, he and his partner were debating whether or not to make the project happen.
After the first star was achieved, they knew it was going to be a resounding success. He spent some time mapping out the design using GPS before driving his tractor.
The enormous design, which spans 60ha, is not the only project that the young farmer has undertaken. In 2017, he created a massive sunflower that was visible on Google earth.
In the previous year, he tilled and designed a mural in honor of the firefighters from the Rural Fire Service who responded to a bushfire in Freeling.
Mr Schuster said that his goal with the project was to help his town, which is located 60 kilometers from Adelaide, become more visible on the map.
For his project, Mr Schuster wanted to explore the possibilities of using his tractor and developing a design that would stand out from the crowd. He also wanted to create an iconic and lasting image for Australia Day.
After completing the project, Mr Schuster said that it helped his town become more visible. He also noted that he was planning on creating a design that was even more complex next year.
