The actor Carl Weathers, who played the lead roles in the movies Rocky and Predator, died at the age of 76.
His family announced that he passed away on February 1.
In a statement, his family said that he was an extraordinary person who lived a remarkable life.
Through his contributions to various fields, such as sports, television, and film, Weathers was able to leave an indelible mark.
He was known for playing the role of Apollo Creed in the first four Rocky movies.
He first appeared in the role of Rocky in 1976. He reprised the role in the following years, before his character was killed by Ivan Drogo in “Rocky III” and “Rocky IV.” In 1987, he also appeared in the film “Predator.”
He is currently enjoying success on the small screen in “Star Wars: The Mandalorian,” which earned him an Emmy award.
Adam Sandler, who worked with Weathers in the movie Happy Gilmore, paid tribute to the actor. He said that Weathers was a great man.
