More than a week after a couple from Sydney were reportedly killed, law enforcers are still looking for their bodies in rural locations.
Beaumont Lamarre Conway, 28, was charged with killing Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, on February 19.
According to the charges, Conway, who was a senior constable, used his police-issued weapon to kill the couple after gaining access to their home in Paddington.
It’s believed that he carried out the crime alone, though he provided partial admissions to other people before turning himself in.
The NSW Police started searching dams near Goulburn, which is about 200 kilometers southeast of Sydney.
Law enforcers were also expected to search rural locations in the region over the next couple of days.
David Hudson, the deputy commissioner of the police, stated that the priority of the investigation is to find the bodies of the couple.
Conway has refused to provide the police with information regarding their investigation.
Mr Hudson noted that the police are still working on the case and will continue to do so.
The deputy commissioner said the investigation has been difficult due to the high media attention that the case has received.
He added that the police are trying to give the families of the victims some closure by addressing the matter in court.
