CSI: NY actor Gary Sinise revealed that his son Mac, who was 33, died on January 5 after a long battle with cancer.
According to the New York Post, Mac was diagnosed with chordoma in 2011.
The actor’s foundation posted a picture of Mac on Instagram with the caption, “In honor and memory of McCanna ‘Mac’ Sinise 1990-2024.”
He and his wife, Moira, have two daughters.
Besides winning an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Tony award, Sinise is known for his work in movies such as “Forrest Gump,” “Apollo 13,” and “The Green Mile.”
In a statement released on his foundation’s website, the actor said that he and his family are currently going through a difficult time.
It is very hard for parents to lose a child, and I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of those who have lost a loved one.
Over the years, I have met many families who have lost loved ones.
The fight against cancer took five and a half years for the Sinises.
It became more difficult as time went on.
While it is hard to see Mac go, we are comforted by the fact that he is no longer struggling.
He was able to manage his illness and was able to keep his spirits up. The Sinises’ wife, Moira, was also diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.
