Australians are known for their love of coffee. It’s no surprise then that a coffee from Aldi Australia has been named the best in the world.
The company’s Lazzio coffee beans were able to take home the gold at the World Series of Gold Coffee Bean Awards held in 2024.
The company was also named as the Large Chain Champion at the World Series of Coffee Bean Awards.
This prestigious competition is the largest of its kind in the world. It features a grand final between the southern and northern hemispheres.
Entries for the competition had reached over 2,500. Between 2019 and 2022, Aldi was the winner of the competition, but it didn’t make it to the finals in 2023.
This was the first time that a coffee from Aldi Australia was able to win a World Series award.
The company’s Lazzio coffee is made by Black Bag Roasters in Melbourne. Daniel Quinlan, the company’s coffee buying director, noted that the partnership with Black Bag Roasters has allowed Aldi to bring the best of Australian coffee to its customers.
The company’s win at the World Series is a reflection of the quality that it delivers to its customers.
It’s also a luxury that everyone can afford, as the prices for its coffee are only 10 cents a cup.
There are 11 kinds of coffee in the company’s Lazzio range, and each of these can be purchased individually or in packs of 250g.
The company’s other blends include 500-gram medium ground, medium dark, and dark beans.
These are priced at $8.49, $8.49, and $8.49, respectively.
There are also bags of single origin beans, such as the Columbia and Brazil beans, which are available in one-kilogram packs. The company’s newest addition to the range, the Lazzio Luxe beans, is also available in the market.
Black Bag Roasters’ director Lance Brown noted that it was an honor to receive high praise from the judges of the World Series of Golden Bean Awards. He attributed the company’s success to its partnership with ALDI.
