The 30-year-old Australian football player Sam Kerr, who is currently on loan to English Premier League team Chelsea, is set to stand trial in the UK for racially abusing a police officer.

She was accused of using abusive and insulting language toward the officer during an incident in January 2023.

During hes appearance at Kingston Crown Court via a video link, Kerr pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the Daily Mail, she spoke only to confirm her name and entered the plea.

On January 21, the Metropolitan police confirmed that Kerr was charged with a racially-agrelated offense.

The charge was made against Kerr following an incident that occurred in January 2023 in Twickenham, London.

It is said that the officer was responding to a call regarding a taxi when he was assaulted.

She is scheduled to stand trial in February 2025, and the trial is expected to last for four days.

Football Australia, the governing body of Australian football, released a statement regarding the situation involving Kerr.

The captain of Australia’s national football team, Kerr is regarded as one of the country’s most prominent athletes.

After leading the Matildas to the semi-final of the Women’s World Cup in New Zealand and Australia, he carried the country’s flag during the royal wedding in May.
