Over a hundred people turned out for the biggest memorial run in honor of Samantha Murphy, who reportedly ran every Sunday.
Before dawn, there were several shadowy figures in a large oval in a town called Bacchus Marsh.
As the people started to gather at around 7 am, a minute of silence was observed for the victim.
Before the group started their run, there was an uplifting cheer. It was believed that Ms Murphy ran from her home in Ballarat East to the town of Bacchus Marsh on February 4.
Unfortunately, her journey ended a short time later.
Originally, the event’s organizers thought that the run would only attract a few people.
However, according to Teena Buskens and Melanie Tudball, there were many people who came out to honor Samantha.
They noted that there were various emotions that were associated with her disappearance.
The goal of the memorial run was to bring people together to honor and process the various emotions associated with the case of Ms. Murphy.
According to Ms Tudball, she and Ms Buskens were related to the victim.
