The promoters of the Splendour in the Grass festival have announced that the event has been canceled.
They cited various unforeseen events and said that they would take the year off.
The festival was scheduled to take place from July 19 to 21 in the North Byron Parklands.

Those who purchased their tickets through Moshtix will be refunded.
The co-chairs of Secret Sounds, Paul Piticco and Jessica Ducrou, also thanked the fans for their support and said that they would try to make the festival happen in the future.

According to Australian music publication Deaf Tone, the promoters of the festival could not confirm if the event would still go ahead.
The annual festival, which was held at the North Byron Park in New South Wales, was supposed to take place in July.
Neither the promoters nor the festival has made a public statement regarding the cancellation.
The Triple J media company, which was an official partner of the festival, confirmed that the event had been canceled.
Sarah Hanson-Young, the senator for South Australia, said that the news of the festival’s cancellation was a grim sign for Australia’s live music scene.
