The bodies of a grandfather and father who drowned in a hotel pool in Surfer’s Paradise have been identified.
They were identified as Gurjinder Singh and Dharmvir “Sunny” Singh.
They were trying to save a young child who fell into the pool at the Top Mark Holiday Apartments.
The paramedics said the two men were trying to save the child when they got into trouble.
They were immediately pulled out of the pool by bystanders, but they died at the scene.
Sunny’s wife was taken to hospital due to her shock, and her daughter survived.
Karen Dhillon, a family friend, described him as a humble and cheerful individual.
The tragic incident has left a huge hole in the family’s heart.
Sunny’s brother said that he had promised his wife that he would help her recover from the loss of her husband and father.
