In 2020, Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson criticized Harry Potter author JK Rowling for stating that she would not be able to forgive them for criticizing her stance on gender identification.
The former is a British actor who starred in the hit movies.
On the other hand, the writer has been making headlines recently after she criticized Scottish laws that make it illegal to discriminate against transgender people.
In addition to defending women’s rights, Rowling has also raised concerns about the issue of single-sex spaces.
This week, it was reported that authorities in Scotland would be enforcing hate crime laws. She reportedly stated that she would like to be arrested.
A spokesperson for the Police Scotland confirmed that the author would not be charged.
This week, a report released in England called for more caution when it comes to the use of hormone treatments for teenagers. In response to the report, Rowling stated that the Cass Review, which was conducted over four years, had been the most comprehensive analysis of the medical evidence related to transitioning kids.
Following the release of the report, Adam Harris claimed that the committed ideologues were already doubling down.
He asked Emma and Dan to issue a public apology so that the public would know that they will be forgiven. Rowling then responded by slamming the actors who appeared in some of the Harry Potter movies.
According to her, being associated with a movement that seeks to undermine women’s rights is not safe. Celebs who supported the decriminalization of transgender people and cheered on those who transitioned may be able to use their platforms to offer apologies to the individuals impacted by this issue. Radcliffe then issued a statement in response to Rowling’s criticism.
In her statement, Watson stated that transgender people are women. Any statements that negate the dignity and identity of such individuals go against the advice of medical professionals. She also stated that people who are transitioning should not be subjected to constant questioning.
In an effort to support her trans followers, Rowling stated that she and the rest of the world love them.
