A woman reportedly died and two others were rushed to hospital after they drank a beverage at a health retreat at Clunes, near Ballarat.
The incident is currently being investigated by homicide detectives.
According to police, a 53-year old Ringwood North resident died on Saturday afternoon.
Two other individuals were taken to the hospital for observation.
The incident reportedly happened at the Soul Barn, which is an alternative health facility that’s located in Fraser Street in Clunes.
At this time, homicide detectives are trying to determine what caused the death.
An ambulance was immediately dispatched to the facility after receiving a call about an unresponsive individual.
The Soul Barn had been holding a trance medium event on Friday evening. It was supposed to be followed by a healing session on Sunday.
However, the event was canceled due to the incident. A post on the business’ Facebook page stated that sound healing would be conducted on Monday.
The facility’s website claims that it offers a variety of holistic health services.
It promotes itself as a place where people can come to connect with their inner guidance and experience the present moment. Besides sound healing, the Soul Barn also provides various other treatments such as beauty treatments and tarot readings.
The Soul Barn also hosts regular retreats and special events. On April 13, a woman from Ringwood North died following an incident at the facility.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the woman’s death was the subject of an investigation. Homicide detectives are still investigating the incident and are asking for anyone who may have information to contact them.
