Aussies are outraged after Cadbury revealed that it had reduced the size of its Cherry Ripe chocolate bars.
The company claimed that the product had been reduced from 52 to 44g.
Despite this, it’s believed that the chocolate bars will still be priced at $2.50 each in supermarkets.
A spokesperson for Cadbury said that the company decided to reduce the size of its chocolate bars to comply with the Australian government’s Healthy Food Partnership guidelines.
They also noted that the company would use up to 50% recycled plastic in its wrappers.
The move has caused a backlash on social media.
According to a Reddit user, they spotted the 52g bars being sold at a discounted price of $2 at a local Woolworths store.
This was in preparation for the 44g versions’ introduction.
