A man in his late 20s died after he was stabbed in Sydney’s northwestern suburbs last night.

Emergency services were called to a residence on Narcissus Ave., Quakers Hill, at around 8.25pm.

Upon arrival, they discovered a man with stab wounds to his chest on the porch.

The officers attempted to help the victim before paramedics arrived, but he died on the way to the hospital.

Homicide detectives and other officers were at the scene this morning to collect evidence.

Detective Superintendent Bingham said the victims and the people living in the house were known to one another.

He added that the community shouldn’t be alarmed as the incident was not a random act.

According to Bingham, the man entered the house willingly. He noted that carrying a knife in public is a criminal offense, and people should stop and think about how dangerous it is to carry one.

Officers are currently looking into the connection of the house’s occupants to the incident.

Riverstone Police and Crime Stoppers are asking for anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV footage to contact them.
