Dannii Minogue, an icon of the LGBTQIA+ community, has come out as gay. I Kissed A Girl, which will be released on May 5, is the female counterpart of last year’s groundbreaking series I Kissed a Boy.

The first episode of I Kissed A Girl features 10 individuals who will be matched up. After meeting each other, they will be given a chance to share a kiss. Throughout the show, the participants will be asked to choose between staying with their current partner or finding someone new. In addition to Minogue, TikTok’s Charley Marlowe will narrate the show, replacing Layton Williams.

During a Q&A session on May 1, the “I Begin To Wonder” singer discussed the various aspects of the upcoming series. However, during the discussion, she reportedly came out as gay. According to a report in The Mirror, she said that she identifies as queer in a strange way. She also talked about the slang used by women of the LGBTQIA community.

The report noted that during the Q&A session, she was asked about the feelings she had for the contestants after some of them referred to her as their type. She responded by saying that she loved being on the show and that she was there for them. Following the news, Mingoue took to her Instagram to address the speculations about her coming out. She posted a picture from the I Kissed A Girl screening.

Taking to her Instagram, the singer noted that the Q&A session with Catherine Bohart was full of laughter and fun. It was also full of talk about her role as an ally to the LGBTQIA community. She expressed her excitement about the upcoming season of I Kissed A Girl.

She noted that the discussion about the show was about the women who like girls. However, she clarified that she wasn’t referring to her sexuality. Instead, she was talking about her long-term relationship with a man. She also noted that the comments that she made were used for clickbait.

In her post, the singer urged her fans to stop focusing on the false stories about her sexuality and focus on the series’ groundbreaking history. She also noted that people should not let this overshadow the important role that I Kissed A Girl plays in the representation of lesbian, bisexual, and queer women on television.

Soon after posting her post, Mingoue’s fans started to show their support for her. They praised her for being an ally to the LGBTQIA community. One of them noted that the comments that she made were taken out of context and used for clickbait. Another person also said that the stories that were posted about her were fabricated.
