Troy Armstrong was charged with murder following a fatal car crash that occurred in NSW’ Central West, when his vehicle drove into the rear of his ex-wife’s car.
He reportedly drove at speeds of 140km/h.
The woman, who was 36 years old at that time, died on Speedy Street.
Armstrong was also charged with attempted murder and breaching restraining orders.
He was taken to a hospital after he was cut from his car, and a court previously heard that he could no longer walk due to his spinal and brain injuries.
Two passengers of his former wife’s car suffered minor injuries.
Armstrong was taken to Long Bay Hospital. He was then denied bail.
A spokesperson for NSW Corrective Services said that on June 4, 2024, a 36-year-old inmate died in a correctional facility in Sydney.
