Tyler Mason, a teenager who died after falling from the 35th floor of a luxury hotel in Sydney, was in state care at the time of his death.

His family said they were baffled by the police’s conclusion that he committed suicide.

An investigation by news.com.au revealed that a panicked attempt was made to reach the teenager’s residential facility just before he died.

The timeline of events was revealed by the extensive information collected from multiple sources.

For several months, Tyler resided at the Big Brown House refuge within Sydney’s western suburbs.

However, the facility’s safety protocols were questioned following the death of his mother in a car crash.

Jo-Ellen Hall, Tyler’s aunt, said that the teenager was scared and wanted to leave before he died.

Before he fell from the 35th floor of the Meriton Suites, he was in a room with five other people. None of them were accompanied by adults.

The gathering was for a birthday girl’s celebration. A man, who was 18 years old at the time, booked the room on behalf of the girl.

According to news.au, things got out of control after a knife was allegedly brandished.

There was also an instance of physical violence, and despite being able to consume only three drinks in five hours, Tyler started to become extremely sick.

According to one of the teenagers in the room, she tried to contact the Big Brown House at around 7 or 8 pm, but they were unsuccessful.

It has been suggested that the intention of the contact was to get someone to come pick Tyler up as he was sick and scared.

Tyler was reportedly very sick, and one of the people in the room said that he wouldn’t know who they were if they showed up.

He vomited, and he lost control of his bladder. According to an investigation by news.com.au, he also lost consciousness several times.

Tyler fell from the hotel’s balcony at around 11.28 pm. He was discovered by paramedics a couple of hours later and later died.

It’s believed that the management of the Big Brown House accepted the police’s findings that he committed suicide by jumping off the balcony.
