The cost-of-living payment for South Australians will be deposited into the bank accounts of concession card holders by the end of this week.
The state budget allocated $243.90 for low-income earners, concession card holders, and Centrelink recipients.
The payment will be deposited automatically into the accounts of people who are signed up to the state government’s existing concession payment program.
It is only made to a single household member.
Previously, seniors and renters who are not homeowners received less than the homeowners.
From August, the annual payment for concession card holders will be increased to $255.60.
They will also receive an additional $243.90 as part of the state budget’s 2024-2025 budget.
According to Premier Peter Malinauskas, the budget included a $200 cut to the services and materials changes for the 2025 school year and a doubling of the school sport voucher.
The Premier said the government’s actions are aimed at helping the most vulnerable individuals in the state.
They also encourage families to live a healthy lifestyle by supporting kids to spend their free time playing music and sport instead of using their phones.
