Temperatures have dropped across the east coast of Australia as a low-pressure system sweeps through the region.

In addition to NSW, the cold weather has affected Tasmania, Victoria, and the ACT.

According to Weatherzone, the temperatures in Victoria and Tasmania reached their lowest levels in over 20 years.

Today’s temperatures in Melbourne and Sydney were 1.4 degrees and 6.5 degrees, which is considered to be the coldest day of the year so far.

In the nation’s capital, Canberra, frost covered the area, with the Parliament House shrouded in a mist.

In Queensland, the temperature at Canungra was -0.3 degrees, while Tambo recorded a low of -5.6 degrees.

The cold weather is caused by a low-pressure area that has been moving over eastern Australia.

It has also caused temperatures to fall due to the high-pressure system that’s accompanying it.

In Smithton, the temperature recorded at -4.5 degrees was the lowest recorded in the area.

The temperature in Sheoks in Victoria reached -1 degrees on June 9, which is the lowest recorded in the area in almost three decades.

In NSW, the temperature at the Griffith Airport dropped to -4. degrees, which is the lowest recorded temperature in the region since 2018.

According to the weather bureau, the wind chill caused temperatures to feel around 6 degrees colder than they actually are.

Cities across the country are expected to experience another cold morning tomorrow as a cold front approaches.

According to WeatherZone, minimum temperatures are likely to stay below freezing over the weekend.
