The BlendJet 2, which is a popular portable blender, is being recalled due to safety concerns after it was reported that it could overheat and start a fire.
The recall notice from Product Safety Australia noted that the blades of the device could break while it’s in use, which could cause serious injuries.
The recalled product’s blades may have broken, which could cause lacerations or choking hazards.
According to users, the devices overheated and resulted in property damage and burn injuries
. The Australian Consumer Commission urged people to stop using the gadget.
The recalled products were sold at various retailers across the country.
Some of these include JB HiFi, Harvey Norman, Kitchen Warehouse, Myer, and Costo.
The base of the blenders has a printed serial number.
The units were available from October 2020 to November 2023.
In response to the reports, BlendJet noted that none of the incidents resulted in property damage or serious injuries.
The company then promised a refund or replacement base.
The recalled BlendJet 2 units are no longer available for purchase.
The product’s previous model numbers have already been updated.
