A man was rushed to a hospital after he was bitten by a shark off the coast of Western Australia’s northwest region.

Emergency services were called to the Fourteen Mile Beach Camp at around 11.18 am on Monday.

The incident is currently under investigation by the DPIRD.

The agency noted that it was working with the local authorities to gather information about the incident.

The beaches near the incident have been temporarily closed.

It’s not clear what type of shark attacked the man, though it’s believed that it was swimming close to the shore.
