The bodies of two men who drowned at a popular waterfall in Queensland were recovered on Tuesday. They were identified as Indian nationals Surya Bobba and Chaitanya Mupparaju.

They reportedly failed to resurface as they were swimming at the Millaa Millaa Falls, which is located near the city of Cairns.

Family and friends of the men have been left stunned by the incident. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise money for their funeral expenses.

The families of the victims have expressed their grief over the tragic incident.

According to Surya Mangapati, a spokesperson for the victims’ families, the sudden death of the two young men has left a void that will never be filled.

Emergency services were called to the area after reports that two individuals had not resurfaced at the waterfall. It is located about 90 kilometers southwest of Cairns.

According to police, it’s believed that one of the men got into an issue while they were swimming.

A second individual then came to help them, but unfortunately, both of them died. The bodies of the two men were recovered by the authorities around midday.

A third man, who was with them, reportedly suffered from shock. In a statement, Mangapati thanked the people who helped the victims’ families during a difficult time.

In support of the families, Mangapati noted that the entire community is working together to help them through this difficult time.

The donations that the people made will help the victims’ families with the financial burden of their funeral expenses.

The police also stated that the swimming ability of the men will be included in a report that will be submitted to the coroner.

By Wednesday afternoon, the online fundraising page had raised over $70,000.
