A man and a two-year-old child died after they were hit by a train at the Carlton station in Sydney’s south.

At around noon on Sunday, a 39-year-old woman, a man, and two young girls were at the station when the pram carrying the kids rolled onto the tracks.

The incident occurred when the man and one of the children got hit by a train.

The people in the area were asked to stay away from the area. The incident is not considered suspicious at this time.

Police are currently at Carlton station, which is located between Allawah and Kogarah.

A woman died at the Punchbowl station earlier this month after she got off the platform to retrieve something.

She was unable to get back onto the platform when the train approached.

In February, two people died after they got hit by a freight train at Berowra.
