The Prime Minister refused to provide a response when asked if a widow whose husband and child died in a train accident would be granted a visa to stay in Australia.

However, Anthony Albanese said he expected the situation to be treated with compassion.

Poonam Runwal and her husband Anand were at the Carlton station in Sydney’s south when their pram got rolled onto the tracks.

Anand and one of their two-year-old daughters died when the pram got rolled onto the train tracks.

According to reports, Ms. Runwal could be deported due to her husband’s work visa renewal.

Mr Albanese said that it was up to Andrew Giles, the minister for immigration, to decide on the issue.

Mr. Albanese said that the situation should be handled with compassion, noting that Australians would be expecting it.

I thought that Australians would be thinking of the mother and her young child following the tragic incident.

According to the Daily Mail, her employer had offered to help her, and her husband’s visa, which had been tied to her right to stay in the country, was set to end on August 1.
