Olympic gold medalist and runner Cathy Freeman announced that she and her husband James Murch have decided to separate after 15 years.

They got married in 2009 and have a daughter named Ruby, who was born that year.

Murch, who used to be an Australian cricketer, became an athlete manager.

Although the couple rarely showed their relationship in public, they stated that their daughter was their top priority.

They will continue working together as an athlete management team. The statement released by the couple said that they have decided to separate after 15 years of marriage.

The couple will continue to work together through their company, Estrella Sports Management.

They thanked their fans for respecting their privacy and noted that they will not be making any further public statements regarding their private matter.

Before she got married to Murch, Freeman was in a long-distance relationship with Nick Bideau, a former manager.

From 1999 to 2003, Freeman was married to Alexander Bodecke, a senior executive at Nike.

After their separation, she started a relationship with Joel Edgerton, an Australian actor. They reportedly met at an award ceremony in 2002.

She started a relationship with Murch when they first met in 2005. They got engaged in 2006.

Then, three years later, they got married. In 2009, Freeman gave birth to Ruby, her first child with Murch.

In a statement released by the couple, they thanked their fans for understanding and said that they are happy with their daughter’s birth.

The couple’s statement said that Ruby was born at around 8 am on July 8. It noted that both mother and baby are doing well.

Two years ago, a video emerged of Ruby, who was 11 years old at that time, running during an athletics competition.
