On Tuesday, a magnitude 5.9 earthquake occurred in the Banda Sea near Darwin, Australia. The Bureau of Meteorology noted that the seismic movement didn’t generate a tsunami.
The agency also reported that there wasn’t a threat of a tsunami in the region.
Around 300 people reported feeling the earthquake.
The movement in the Banda Sea occurred shortly after a magnitude 3.0 earthquake hit Gippsland, Australia, on Monday evening.
The epicenter of this seismic activity was at Sandy Point, which is about 190 kilometers south-east of Melbourne.
