Hundreds of people were evacuated from a busy shopping center in Sydney’s west after a suspicious item was discovered.
The incident occurred at the Auburn Central mall, which is near Parramatta.
According to Omar Sakr, who used to be on X, the mall was evacuated and sirens went off as police responded to the scene.
A police spokesperson said that a suspicious item found in the area turned out to be harmless.
They are now investigating if the item was intentionally left there.
The incident prompted the police to close Queen St, Vales Lane, Mary St, Harrow Rd, and Auburn Rd.
The public was then asked to avoid the area. After the item was taken away, the mall was reopened.
