Emirates, which has been operating a service between Australia’s Melbourne and Singapore for over two decades, will stop its service.

The move comes as the company is releasing itself from certain capacity commitments.

The carrier informed the Singapore’s Consumer and Competition Commission about its decision to end the service last month.

However, it’s not clear when the service will end.

An Emirates spokesperson said that the company will still provide its passengers with other options.

Following the CCCS’ final assessment, Emirates will decide the termination of its EK404/405 service between Melbourne and Singapore.

The company will then inform affected passengers and provide them with alternate travel options once the service ends.

It’s believed that the airline will not operate any further flights between Australia and Singapore.

Emirates will continue to operate four daily services between Singapore and Dubai, as well as two Melbourne-Dubai flights.

  1. Surely it is time to stop the rot of welcome to country. Pretending to have a knowledge of thousands of years, while knowing that no one was allowed to travel onto another’s country without risking a spearing is truly breathtaking. I really think it is high time to call all Australians “Australians” and move on.
