After experiencing a period of warm weather, the mercury started to drop in Australia’s south east.
Melbourne’s high temperature on Saturday is expected to be six degrees below the average, while the coastal regions of New South Wales could see temperatures around eight degrees lower.
According to Rob Sharpe, a Sky News Weather Meteorologist, the weather will be similar to that of winter in both Victoria and Tasmania this weekend.
A cold front coming from the Great Australian Bight will bring rain and temperature drops to areas in Tasmania and the south east coast of the country.
According to Mr. Shape, the weather conditions will stay colder than usual until next week. He noted that Melbourne will experience its lowest temperature since August.
On Saturday, the city will experience showers and a low of around 18 degrees Celsius.
On Friday, it will be around 17 degrees Celsius with a low of 9 degrees. On Saturday, it will feel like it’s colder than July with a high of 12 degrees but rain is possible.
In the city of Geelong, the temperature is expected to reach 14 degrees on Sunday.
The temperature in Ballart is expected to reach 9 degrees Celsius on Saturday. In the Alpine regions, such as Mt Buller, snow is likely to occur on Sunday morning with a low of -6 degrees.
In Tasmania, the mercury is expected to reach 14 degrees Celsius on Friday. On Saturday, it will drop to 11 degrees and rain is possible. Early risers in the state will experience temperatures of around 4 degrees Celsius.
On Friday and over the weekend, snow is possible in the Mt Wellington and Kunanyi areas. On Saturday, the maximum temperature could reach -1 degrees Celsius.
Sunny weather is expected to occur in Adelaide on both Friday and Saturday. The city’s high temperature on Friday will be 18 degrees Celsius, while the low on Saturday will be 5 degrees Celsius.
The city of Adelaide is expected to experience sunny weather over the weekend with highs of 17 degrees Celsius and lows of 6 degrees Celsius. In the nation’s capital, Canberra, the temperature will be -1 degrees on Friday and zero degrees on Saturday.
In Sydney, the temperature is predicted to reach 19 degrees Celsius on Friday and stay below average for the month of September.
A warmer day with a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius is expected to occur on Saturday.
However, the temperature will drop to 17 degrees on Sunday due to the cold front. Light showers are possible on Sunday. In coastal areas, such as Wollongong, the temperature will drop to 15 degrees on Sunday.
The temperature in the city of Perisher is expected to fall to -5 degrees on Sunday, while in the Blue Mountains, it’s expected to drop to 9 degrees.
In Brisbane, the mercury is expected rise to 22 degrees on Friday and then to 25 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday.
In Townsville, the minimum temperature is expected to reach around the mid-teens, while the high temperature is expected to reach 28 degrees.
For the upcoming days, Perth will experience sunny weather with highs of 28 degrees Celsius, while Albany will experience partly cloudy conditions with highs of 18 degrees.
In Karratha, the temperature is expected to rise to 35 degrees with sunny skies.
