Country music legend Kris Kristofferson died at the age of 88.

He was reportedly surrounded by his family when he passed away on September 28 in Hawaii.

He is best known for his work in movies such as “A Star Is Born,” which he co-starred with legendary actress and singer Barbara Streisand.

Although the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, Kris Kristofferson’s family said in a statement that he passed away peacefully on September 28 at his home.

They thanked his fans for their love and said that he was always smiling down at them.

Besides being a Grammy award-winning artist, Kris Kristofferson was also an award-winning actor. He received a Golden Globe award for his performance in “A Star Is Born.”

He also worked with Wesley Snipes in the popular Blade movies.

Kristofferson had a wide range of hits during the 1970s, such as “Me and Bobby McGee” and “For The Good Times.”

In 1985, he collaborated with other prominent country music artists such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson to form the Highwaymen. The group released three albums.

Kris Kristofferson officially announced his retirement in February 2020. He is survived by his eight children and his third wife Lisa Meyers. They got married in 1983.
