The residents of a small town in NSW’s Central West region are in mourning after a popular teenager died.

Ray Williams, 18, who worked at the Nyngan Tavern, fell ill on Monday and was rushed to hospital.

According to reports, her condition quickly worsened.

Mitchell, the young woman’s brother, revealed to DailyMail that her mother insisted that she seek medical assistance immediately. Despite this, Ray noted that she was fine.

Mitchell noted that the mother had to drag Ray to the hospital on Monday due to how worried she was. Everything happened so quickly.

Despite her condition, Ray seemed to be improving. However, on the way to a helicopter, she suddenly passed away.

A coroner is expected to determine the exact cause of her death. It’s believed that she died due to sepsis caused by meningococcal.

Mitchell has started a Go Fund Me page to help the Williams family with the funeral costs.

He noted that Ray brought so much love into his family, and they are struggling to cope with the loss.

As of writing, the page has already raised over $37,000.
