An 11-year-old girl and her 45-year-old father died in a car crash on Friday in Tugrabakh, NSW.
The girl, Ivy Hodgess, and her father, Wade, were killed when the vehicle they were in crashed on The Bucketts Way.
Vann and Lenix, who were also in the car, had to undergo surgery at the John Hunter Hospital.
Around midnight on Friday, the police were notified about a missing report regarding Mr Hodgess and his kids.
They were told that they might have been traveling to a relative’s home.
When the officers arrived, they found his car, which had left the road.
The bodies of Mr Hodgees and Ivy were found inside the vehicle. The two other passengers, who were trapped in the car, were freed by SES and Fire and Rescue crews. They were then taken to the John Hunter Hospital for treatment.
A crime scene was then established and an investigation was carried out. Amanda Kendall, a family friend, set up a Go Fund Me account to help the family. She said the community of Tuncurry and Forster was shocked by the news about the accident. Ivy was described as a beautiful little girl.
According to Amanda, Ms. Hodges’ mother, Simara, and her partner, Darryn, were struggling with the loss of their daughter as they looked after their other kids. The community was urged to help the family by sending Ivy off in a beautiful manner.
