Pauline Hanson, the leader of One Nation, broke down in tears during a press conference after a judge ruled that she racially vilified a Greens Senator.
The case involves a statement she made on social media in September 2022.
In the post, she told Mehreen Faruqi that she should “piss off” after she made a comment about the death of Queen Elizabeth.
Senator Larissa Waters stated that she could not mourn the leader of an apartheid-era racist empire as she did not believe that the land, resources, and lives of the people were stolen.
She was speaking out after Justice Angus Stewart ruled that her post was unlawful under the Racial Equality Act.
Senator Pauline Hanson stated that she was disappointed with the ruling and would be filing a motion to appeal it.
She said that the country had changed so much that people no longer have the right to voice their opinions.
She noted that she had never changed since she first started in politics over 30 years ago.
She stated that she believed that the decision was unfair and hard to accept.
However, she vowed to continue fighting it.
