Less than 24 hours following Donald Trump’s victory, the late-night hosts wasted no time in addressing the president-elect’s victory.
Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Seth Meyers all delivered similar performances Wednesday night. They all put on a fake smile and talked about the horrible night they experienced.
It was Jimmy Kimmel, 56, who broke down during his opening monologue as he talked about the election results. He referred to the election as a “horrible night” for everyone, including women, children, and immigrants.
He said that Trump’s victory had been a “terrible night” for everybody who voted against him. He also noted that the people who supported him were just not aware of it yet.
In his opening monologue, Kimmel noted that Trump’s victory was a “good night” for Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, as well as other notable individuals.
He also talked about the people who sold their souls to Trump, and he predicted that the situation will get worse.
He noted that he was disappointed with the results of the election, and he also said that he thought that commonsense would prevail.
However, for many people, this is not important. He was ridiculed by various conservative commentators, such as Megyn Kelly.
As he claimed victory, NBC’s Meyers said that he voted for Harris, who he referred to as someone who was not a good person.
He noted that nobody knew who he had voted for in the weeks leading up to the election. The election felt like it was Christmas Eve, as Meyers said that Trump had either taken a huge dump in the fireplace or left presents under the tree.
He referred to Trump as a bad person, and he said that he was basing his comments on what he had been taught. He added that half of the country believes that he is a good person, while the other half don’t care.
He then noted that Trump would be the US president for four more years. His calm demeanor quickly changed as he started his “A Closer Look” segment, where he talked about the 2024 presidential election. He said that Trump won the election and would be re-elected for another four years.
Meyers referred to Trump’s incredible time-warp and how he will remain the world’s center of gravity. He said that everyone can no longer escape his powerful and benevolent personality.
